V is for Valiant Effort

I am officially a Jags fan. I think three actual visits to actual games makes that so. Thanks in large part to my Jags-fan-compatriot, Mary, and her incessant encouragement to attend and enjoy.

All of Jacksonville was "abuzz" with anticipation for the Jaguars vs. Colts game. Touchdown Jacksonville had reassembled to get the city back behind our faintly beloved team [they are beloved, but you wouldn't know it by the looks of things... God willing, we won't lose the team because that would set the city's growth back a severe notch or one thousand five hundred and seventy three].

Megan, Caitlin, Mary and I piled into the ol' SUV, parked a good mile and a quarter away, and hiked our way over to the big turquoise + animal print stadium.

I am a rock, I am a climber.

For some time I have been meaning to hit up the South Metro YMCA for some rockclimbing. It seemed like a fun, non-mind-numbing-elliptical-boredom way to get some excercise. When my friend Allison and I made our way over there last night, we had no idea what we were in for.

Tree: The Battle Between Big and Small

Every year Justin and I get a Christmas tree to decorate with hilarious ornaments [pickles, olives, guitars, dragons], pile a slightly disturbing amount of capitalistically glorifying gifts under, to sit around with cups of hot coco [in our dreams], and for the kits to gaze at from afar and from very very close.

The big ones.

The babes.

Every year I try to convince him to get a big tree. You know, the kind that barely fit in the house and it takes a ladder and two people to string lights around. Big, fluffy, joyfully bearing gifts... just like Santa.

Making a valiant effort to prove the awesomeness of the mid-sized beauts.

Fail.

Every year he falls in love with the baby trees. Such a bleeding heart he has. And I always agree. [This is somewhat due to the rahdik price tags at those independent tree lots - go to Lowe's people.]

Mind made up.

Welcome Pinelope Grace Spruceford, of the Needleburrough Sprucefords.

Photos of tree in casa to come.

Happy Holidays! XO

Is that tinsel in your pocket or are you just happy it's Christmas?

In honor of the holidays, I've made a little video collection of some of my all time favorite Christmas songs. So I love the holidays. So what? So I get little glimmers of tinsel in my eyes whenever this time of year rolls around. So I clothe myself in tape and wrapping paper and tissue paper and ribbon for almost a month straight. So I am a little excessive with the gift giving [even to myself]. So I make Justin light a "fire" [log] even when it's 80 degrees outside [and swore this year if it was warm on Christmas day I was SWIMMING - flo-da style], I can just crank up the AC. So what? So I make my coworkers listen to Christmas Pandora a few days a week.

Don't hate. [Appreciate.]

Some Christmas cheer for all...

What/Why: 5am

What I desperately need:

[Fuel.]

Why I so desperately need it:

STOMPers getting ready to stomp all over Good Morning Jax.

STOMP: v. to tread or trample heavily or violently on;
n. a dance involving a rhythmical, heavy step;
v. movement used to wake one's tired ass up!

[Stomp/Squish.]

Preparing to Stomp all over The Morning Show.

Reason 2.0 that I desperately need said beverage:

[Gin's an American! Certificate and all.]

My gorgy Italian ex-teach/now-friend Ginevra and her BFF Brigette are coming for visitations. Let the festa begin!
