V is for Valiant Effort

I am officially a Jags fan. I think three actual visits to actual games makes that so. Thanks in large part to my Jags-fan-compatriot, Mary, and her incessant encouragement to attend and enjoy.

All of Jacksonville was "abuzz" with anticipation for the Jaguars vs. Colts game. Touchdown Jacksonville had reassembled to get the city back behind our faintly beloved team [they are beloved, but you wouldn't know it by the looks of things... God willing, we won't lose the team because that would set the city's growth back a severe notch or one thousand five hundred and seventy three].

Megan, Caitlin, Mary and I piled into the ol' SUV, parked a good mile and a quarter away, and hiked our way over to the big turquoise + animal print stadium.

The Jags lost, and with it their chance of going to the playoffs. Not that I, or anyone else with half a brain, thought they would win, with the Colts being undefeated. But the Jags, ahhh our sweet sweet Jaguars, they held their own. I love this team. I love having a team. [Yes, yes, I have technically "had" this team for roughly fifteen years - I take a while to come around.]

So they aren't the best team on the planet. So they are struggling a little to find their niche, their juju, their je ne sais quoi. Football is fun. Especially when your team almost kicks the crap out of an undefeated team like the Colts. Go Jaguars!
