There is almost nothing less fashionable than crutches. So, when my doc told me that I would be forced to wear them for an indeterminable amount of time for my bum leg, I was quickly filled with fashion dread. Sigh. Not only do you have every single person you pass looking at you with wonder and pity [for really, just a brief second, but still], but your entire appearance is centered around two metallic maneuvering apparati.

So, clearly, they had to be specialized and stylized. I spent a good 45 minutes propped on the sofa with various beads, scarves and yarns figuring out how to make these things work for me.

And voila. Steven Tyler's crutches. Two people in a matter of ten minutes made that reference. I write this as I wear Justin's vintage Aerosmith tee, resting injuredly on the sofa. Rock and roll baby. As I hobble along.

On another note, while reposing against the mosaic wall on the deck of Birdy's in Five Points, I became fascinated by the intricate details of the wall art. So elaborate, so creative, so... themed. I was impressed beyond the belief that it was just the beer talking. How long did that take? And can you come to my house?
