Yelp me get my feet back on the ground.

I know everyone's been wondering where I've been these last few months. [Said with sarcasm and the notion that I've been wondering the same thing, perhaps?] 

Well, I will tell you. For the first little bit of summer I was spending all my internet efforts on Yelp.com, writing reviews for the Jacksonville area as a hired Yelp Scout [to help build up Jax's market some]. Pretty sweet gig, if I do say so myself! I got paid to go out, have fun, and tell everyone about it.

After a while I started to moan to myself about how I wished I could just go somewhere NORMAL and somewhere USUAL. Like European Street, my comfort blanket of restaurants. Just down the street, serves tasty and inexpensive foods, and has a fantastic selection of beers and wines. Or Bistro Aix for a fancy meal. My standards. You get it.

Still, this gig called upon my general curious nature and let me explore this great city a little further. Lovely. And with a handful of new places opening up in Jacksonville every week, I definitely had my share of local adventures.

Check out Yelp if you haven't already familiarized yourself with it! A great place to learn about whatever city you happen to be in. You can search by type, by area, and by cost all at once! Hello. Perfection. It's a pretty creative solution to finding something to do. It also functions as a social network, as well, so you can make Yelp friends and send each other sweet little messages about how great someone's review was. I also have 3 fans. Pretty amazing, really.

Now that this short stint of Yelpness has passed I will be back on the blog a bit more frequently. [And still on Yelp. I am a believer.] Lots to see and do and share!
